As part of the University of Zakho's ongoing efforts to strengthen international academic cooperation and expand its global engagement, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohamed Abdo, Vice President of the University of Zakho for Scientific Affairs, paid an official visit to the Iraqi Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, D.C., as well as to the Iraqi Embassy in the United States.

During the visit, Dr. Abdo met with officials of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché and discussed a number of strategic issues aimed at enhancing the internationalization of higher education and supporting the development of academic and research collaboration between zakho  and international institutions.in USA 

The discussions focused on several key areas, including the establishment of joint academic programs, support for university internationalization initiatives, and the promotion of participation in international educational conferences and events. 

Furthermore, both sides explored opportunities for building academic partnerships between the University of Zakho and American universities and institutions. The meetings emphasized the importance of supporting scientific exchange programs, research visits, and collaborative research projects that contribute to advancing knowledge and innovation.

The discussions also addressed mechanisms for facilitating academic agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), organizing professional and academic training programs, and creating sustainable frameworks for institutional cooperation between the University of Zakho and leading international universities.

Dr. Abdo also met with officials at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington, D.C., where discussions focused on ways to facilitate and support the University's international engagement activities, strengthen academic and cultural relations, and enhance cooperation with educational and research institutions across the United States.

The visit reflects the University of Zakho's commitment to expanding its international partnerships, fostering academic excellence, and creating new opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers through global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
